Furnace Installation in Salt Lake City
Replacing a furnace is one of the larger decisions a homeowner makes, and it usually happens under pressure — in January, with no heat, after someone has told you the old one isn't worth fixing.
We'd rather you made that decision properly. We give you the numbers for repair and replacement both, and we don't employ commissioned salespeople, so nobody here earns more by selling you a bigger system.
When replacement makes more sense than repair
Age. Most furnaces last fifteen to twenty years. Past that, parts get harder to find and failures get more frequent.
A cracked heat exchanger. This is a safety issue, not an efficiency one. A cracked exchanger can leak combustion gases into your home, and the unit has to be shut down.
Repeated repairs. If you've paid for two or three fixes in as many winters, that money is usually better spent on a system that won't need a fourth.
Rising bills with no other explanation. Older furnaces lose efficiency gradually. A modern high-efficiency unit can cut running costs noticeably.
Uneven heating that repairs don't solve. Sometimes the problem is that the system was never right for the house.
Sizing matters more than brand
An oversized furnace heats the house quickly, shuts off, and cycles on again a few minutes later. That short cycling wears the equipment out, makes rooms uneven, and costs more to run than a correctly sized unit.
Bigger is not better, and it's the most common mistake in residential heating.
Every installation we arrange starts with a load calculation and a look at your existing ductwork, so the equipment is matched to your home rather than to a round number.
Systems we install
We install Goodman, Rheem and Carrier furnaces — gas and electric, standard and high-efficiency.
Every install includes new venting where required, correct gas connections, and a properly commissioned startup so the system is verified working before anyone leaves. Work is done to code and inspected.
What the process looks like
We start with a diagnostic so you know exactly what's wrong with the current system. If it's repairable and worth repairing, we'll say so. See furnace repair
If replacement is the better option, you get the numbers for both paths in writing. No pressure, no same-day-only discounts, no scare tactics about carbon monoxide.
When you decide to go ahead, we handle the load calculation, the equipment, the installation and the commissioning.
Before you call
Find the manufacture date on your current furnace — usually on a label inside the access panel. If it's over fifteen years old, replacement is worth considering even if it's still running.
Also note what it's actually doing. "It won't start" and "it starts then shuts off" point at completely different things, and one of them might be a cheap repair rather than a replacement.
Furnace Installation FAQs
How do I know whether to repair or replace?
Age, what's failed, and what the repair costs relative to a new system. We give you both numbers and let you decide.
What does a new furnace cost?
It depends on the size of your home, the efficiency you want and your existing ductwork. We quote after a proper assessment rather than over the phone.
How long does an installation take?
Most standard replacements are done in a day.
Do you offer financing?
Not currently.
What brands do you install?
Goodman, Rheem and Carrier.
Can you install in winter if we have no heat?
Yes. No-heat calls go to the front of the line, and we can usually restore heat the same day.
